Case description
One of the hospitals in Germany sought a solution to improve instrument counting and detection during surgeries.
Manual counting of medical instruments posed challenges, leading to errors and inefficiencies.
An AI solution was developed using an open-source computer vision and machine learning library OpenCV, along with the object detection system YOLO.
This solution enabled a high-accuracy detection and segmentation of medical instruments and was later deployed on AWS.
Result
Successful implementation of AI solution enhanced accuracy and speed in instrument counting and detection. It’s not only addressed the challenges faced by the hospital but also greatly improved patient safety during surgical procedures.
